  1. What is project management and why is it useful to me?  Basic concepts and definitions.

  2. Understanding a complex problem and establishing a project to solve it.

  3. Project Methodology, Project Inception, Stakeholder Identification, User Requirements

  4. Developing a Scope of Work and a Project Schedule

  5. Basics of Scheduling, Resource Assignment, and Work Breakdown Structure (2 weeks)

  6. Basics of Budgeting and Estimating (2 weeks)

  7. Project Communications, Stakeholder Management, and Managing Expectations

  8. Establishing Appropriate Project Metrics, Reporting, and Forecasting

 

Weeks 12-14 – Risk Management

  1. Understanding Risk – Frequency and Severity

  2. Applying Risk to Projects and Real Life

  3. Managing Risk – Assigning Resources, Contingency Plans, Backup Plans

Second Semester – Relationship Management

 

Week 1 – Introduction

  1. Introduction to the Program, Semester’s Curriculum, and Adobe Connect

  1. Your Personality – Perception vs Reality - EIQ, Traits, Strengths, Weaknesses

  2. MBTI Personality Tool – Explanation of Tool, Metrics, and Personality Types

  3. Detailed Discussion – Introvert vs Extravert, Sensing vs Intuiting

  4. Detailed Discussion – Thinking vs Feeling, Perception vs Judging

  5. Your Personality, Take 2 – Using your gifts and maximizing your effectiveness

  6. Interacting effectively with other personalities and establishing well rounded teams

  7. How to succeed when you do not select your team - Conflict, Resolution, and Prevention

  8. Working across Generations – Baby Boomers, GenX, GenY, Millenials, GenZ (2 weeks)
