These days, engineers need to know a lot more than just technical engineering to be successful in industry.  Through collaboration with our partner professional societies, course curricula and content are developed by subject matter experts in their respective fields, because who knows what they need better than the people that live it every day?

Our virtual platform utilizing Adobe Connect enables us to provide real-time, weekly educational sessions for any engineering student at a partner university to introduce students to the professional side of engineering.  They ensure every Freshman and Sophomore gains exposure to subjects like Project Management, Relationship Building and Management, Risk Management, Maintenance & Operations, Finance, Legal/Contracts, Negotiation Strategy, and Environmental Health and Safety.

The professional curricula also grows and expands as students progress, allowing us to leverage what they learn in technical classes as well as previous semesters of our sessions.  After students choose their discipline in their Junior year, the subject matter experts from the respective engineering or professional society will take over the training.  This means civil engineering students are taught the professional side of civil engineering by professional civil engineers.  Likewise for chemical, mechanical, electrical, and pharmaceutical engineering students are taught by professionals in their respective industries.

Leadership Development

By providing students with access to industry leaders, we seek to form a mentoring atmosphere to guide students through college and into the work place.  This will foster the development of new leaders earlier in their careers.  Students from participating universities will graduate with skills and experiences, beyond the technical side of engineering, that were not previously possible.

Virtual Learning

Epee Consulting supports a virtual training platform utilizing Adobe's "Connect" technology.  Connect was selected for its versatility to match many styles of training, live Q&A, surveys for quizzes, and virtual whiteboard that can be shared between instructors and their students.  It also allows for each live session to be recorded and archived.  This allows us to provide students and professors alike with a repository of invaluable profession knowledge at their fingertips whenever they need it.
